Marking Our Return

Marking Our Return

Posted by Indie Modau on October 12th, 2026

Every so often, one needs to step away from the noise.

There are seasons for making, seasons for showing, and seasons for sitting with what has been made long enough to understand where it wants to go next. For Laud Pulse, the past few months have been a period of quiet consideration; a chance to look again at the house, the woman at its centre and the clothes that have come to define her.

Across African traditions, transformation is often understood as a passage rather than a single moment: a period of leaving one state of being and entering another, with “imigidi” marking the significance of that transition - where one emerges from the bush changed; carrying what came before, while stepping into a new role and a new understanding of self.

Fashion has its own language for this.

We change our clothes when we change our lives. The first suit for a new position. The dress chosen for a wedding. The garment that makes us feel ready for a room we have never entered before. What we wear can become a kind of armour, a uniform, or a declaration of arrival. There is a particular psychology to getting dressed when something in your life has shifted. Clothes become part of the process of becoming, helping us see the person we are stepping towards before we have quite become her.

This season, Laud Pulse is marking its own return with that spirit of transformation in mind.

We are beginning with pieces you may already know.

Over the next few months, some of our most loved garments will take centre stage again, given the space to speak on their own terms. These are pieces from our existing collections that we believe still have more to say: the silhouettes that hold their shape in the imagination, the prints that continue to catch the eye, the tailoring that reveals something new when you look a little closer.

Because a great garment has a life beyond its first appearance.

Whether you wear a piece to a meeting one year or discover an entirely different expression for it at dinner the next, its meaning evolves with you. Your hair may have changed, your career, your city, your priorities, or simply your sense of yourself. The garment remains familiar; you bring the evolution.

That is why we wanted to return to these pieces now. Good design deserves the chance to endure, to gather memories and to reveal something different each time you wear it.

So, we're back. And the story continues.

And what a season it is to return.
